Kinect SDK 1.0.0.45

Nov 5, 2011 at 7:24 AM

Any plans on updating Microsoft.Research.Kinect from 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.45 soon? Not a big deal but I'm getting build warnings about conflicting assemblies now with the latest and greatest. Can ignore or remove NuGet ref and pull in source code.

The new version of Kinect Toolbox will be available today :)

Great, thanks!

I'm guessing I need to update MS Speech now. Can you direct me to the right location for that? I get confused by the different speech api's MS has...

There was a conflict between "Microsoft.Speech, Version=10.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" and "Microsoft.Speech, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35".
      "Microsoft.Speech, Version=10.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" was chosen because it was primary and "Microsoft.Speech, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" was not.
      References which depend on "Microsoft.Speech, Version=10.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" [C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Speech Platform SDK\Assembly\Microsoft.Speech.dll].

Guessing I just need to install MS Speech SDK 11 from http://207.46.154.156/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=82573a81-3a43-49f1-a6b9-72b82556222a and change my project to reference that to match Kinect Toolbox's v11 use. Or toy with specific version on ref or binding redirect or ignore warning.

I'm a little hesitant to go w/11 with the Kinect site still promoting 10.2 (not sure why). Also not sure if I would need to install any new versions of the other 2 speech MSIs (platform and lang pack) or if they would play well with the 10.2 versions.

Almost wondering if the Kinect Toolbox speech support is just for recording "gesture macros" if eventually it'd make sense to break apart recording into another NuGet package since that is generally more of an administrative / maintenance / one-time setup step and not so much for general Kinect use.

You're right. I fallback to Speech API 10.2 to be consistent with the Kinect for Windows SDK.

I also change the nuGet Package and the download here to dispatch the toolbox into two assemblies : kinect.toolbox.dll and kinect.toolbox.voice.dll

Thanks for your support :)

Thank you for the nice library and hard work!

I don't see an update for the NuGet package or a new download with the changes you mentioned but I do see that the source code has those changes. I was able to download and build that and manually overwrite the older one in packages. I did get build errors around the ".save" files (i.e. copying "...\circleKB.save" to "bin\Debug\Data\circleKB.save") but it was ignorable.

Ahh. Well I think that prevented the Nuget extension in Visual Studio from seeing that there was an update to the package. Perhaps if I forced the install / upgrade from the package manager console or uninstalled and reinstalled the package then it would work.

Thanks again
